In 2003 I began teaching a high school course based around designing, building, and racing an entry in the American Visionary Arts Museum East Coast Kinetic Sculpture Race Championship. The race is an incredible event on many levels. As a teacher, I find it a great opportunity for my students to learn concepts from math, science, and art; to develop their character as creative team members; and perhaps most importantly, be recognized in a glorious, open minded public setting. This website is to share some of the resources my students and I have created.
